Collaboration: The Collusionist Crate and Sasquatch & Co.

Sasquatch and co.jpg

What started as a scholarly endeavor to develop a product and brand for a design school class has quickly transformed into a full fledged business for the super rad folks over at Sasquatch & Co. They create beautifully original art that is hand pulled for one of a kind prints, as well as  bad-ass soy candles, whose proceeds benefit specific national parks.

By an act of kismet, I stumbled upon their shop while perusing the wares over at the Holiday Horseshoe Market when my wife made sure I took note of how much she liked their  prints. As luck would have it, I remembered their name long enough to pick up one of their prints for a Valentine's Day gift. After that, I knew I had to collaborate with them for edition 2 of The Collusionist Crate. They kindly obliged by coming up with an exclusive 5x7 print which I’m so stoked to be able to include!

Also, make sure to check back with The Collsuionist tomorrow as The Collusionist Crate Edition 2: Undomesticated, will be available for purchase.

Collaboration: The Collusionist Crate and Wine Punts

Wine is good. Up-cycling thousands of bottles of wine into beautifully crafted drink-ware in which even more wine can be consumed is better. Wine Punts, the Colorado Springs based business, does just that by collecting used wine bottles and transforming them into stunning glasses. They help upcycle over 125,000 wine bottles a year and have generated interest from the likes of Oprah and West Elm. They were also awesome enough to include 2 of these super sweet 12 oz clear wine punts in the newest edition of The Collusionist Crate.

I am beyond stoked to work with everyone over at Wine Punts! Plus, with every Collusionist Crate order, a promo code will be given out so you can fill out the rest of your Wine Punt set at a discounted price.

Brand: Copper Candle Co.

From the earliest iteration of The Collusionist, using collaboration to invest in adventure and entrepreneurship has been the driving force behind the majority of the decisions, both large and small, relating to the brand as a whole. Even before The Collusionist Crate was a tangible product, I knew I wanted to give back to the entrepreneurial culture in as many ways as possible. The Collusionist Crate was a fantastic jumping off point and working with the amazing people and brands I've had the pleasure of collaborating with over the past year has been more gratifying than I thought possible. However, it was just a jumping off point.

All of which brings me to this, the first post of 2017, and the first ever Collusionist Start Up Investment. It has always been my intention to take profits made from the sales of The Collusionist Crate and invest them in an entrepreneur with an idea that they are passionate about, all while helping them bridge the barriers to market entry. I couldn't be more stoked to announce that the Copper Candle Company will be the first company launched with the help of The Collusionist.[1] Their first product is available now through The Collusionist Shop and the profits from each sale will help to build the necessary infrastructure for The Copper Candle Company to grow and operate under.

Inspired by the rescue adoption of Copper, a 2-4 year old American Brittany through the National Brittany Rescue and Adoption Network (NBRAN), the idea to give back by more than just adopting was born. While spending the better part of 2016 learning the eccentricities of both Copper and the Brittany breed, a lifelong companionship was formed and the desire to help other Brittanys in need of a forever home grew. After spending a lazy Sunday trying to think of a handmade Christmas gift for the holiday season, a YouTube video of soy candle making was stumbled upon, and the idea for the Copper Candle Company was born. A portion of the profits from each candle will be donated to NBRAN with the hopes of helping Brittanys everywhere find their adoptive parents. Again, the first candle, Lazy Sunday, is now available for purchase through The Collusionist shop. So, if you have a dog lover in your life or are just looking for a new candle in the New Year, check it out. Also make sure to check back with The Collusionist to watch all of the Copper Candle Company's growth and progress.

[1] Full disclosure, The Copper Candle Company is my wife Kelly’s company and will serve as a proof of concept for future Collusionist Start Up Investments.

Holiday Gift Guide: For Her

I pride myself on being a good gift giver when it comes to the ladies in my life. However, my wife has been known to be a bit skeptical when it comes to some of my choices. So instead of making the For Her selections on my own, I called in the big guns and had Kelly write the entire post.

                                                                                              -Tim

Well, it’s that time of year again! Today is December 1 which means it’s time for some holiday cheer (although things have been pumpkin spice for a few months now).

Anyway, I am contributing to the Holiday Guides this year since I am, well, a girl…errr, woman. Whether you want to add any of these items to your list (my family is that kind of family) or if you’d like to snatch something up for the special lady(ies) in your life, check it out!

We went to the Horseshoe Market last weekend and saw some pretty awesome vendors. One of my favorite booths was Make My Notebook. You choose the size, cover, color and paper and they bind a notebook just for you! The small, pictured below, is $14.95 which won’t break the bank, and it’s unique. It is perfect for the bookworm and writer type.

Make My Note Book: It May Not Be Easy ($14.95)

I love this print from Sasquatch&Co. I want it in my basement, like, now. Jeffrey Sloan is the owner and designer and runs an Esty shop by the same name.

Sasquatch&co: Mountain Water Hand Pulled Screen Print ($18)

This dainty necklace from Sparkle & Stone for $30 that will be customized with initials because, dainty is in.

Sparkle & Stone: Custom Letters Necklace ($30)

I love this sweatshirt from the Moore Collection. Something about it screams cool + elementary school map and I’m all about that.

Moore: Travel West Crewneck ($46)

I bought this candle from Worthy two weekends ago and I’m obsessed, ya’ll. Something about the hexagonal (I’m not sure if that’s the right word but we are all up in pattern blocks and geometry in 5th grade right now) shape makes it extra cool.

Worthy: Concrete Candle/Planter Light ($32)

Okay, on a non-local note, I want these tieks shoes SO BAD. They’re pricey, but the research has shown that they are great flats for the “always on her feet gal”( ie: teachers and nurses).  They’re $235.

Collaboration: Collusionist Pop Up Shop

I’m extremely excited to get the first ever Collusionist Pop Up Shop underway. We partnered with the amazing folks over at Local 46 Bar & Biergarten to host a one time only Pop Up Shop featuring The Collusionist Crate contributors. So if you're free on November 19th from 1:00-7:00 stop by for a drink and discover some of the rad offerings from amazing Colorado based businesses: Worthy, Camilla & Pip, Purpose and Pine, I Get Down and The Collusionist Crate.

Hope to see everyone there!
